And I Will Tell You Mine

Sophia Bush has always understood the power of stories. She’s seen it in the connection millions around the world have had to the women she’s played on-screen – including Drs. Sam Griffith on Good Sam and Cass Beckman on Grey’s Anatomy, Detective Erin Lindsay on Chicago P.D. and, of course, the iconic, beloved Brooke Davis on One Tree Hill. She’s seen it in her activism, where speaking truth to inequality and power has opened eyes and prompted real change. And she’s seen it in her personal life, when her experiences and opinions have been distorted to drive clicks and create drama. Stories are powerful. And now, for the first time, Sophia shares the ones that have most shaped her remarkable life and journey. With unflinching honesty, she opens up about her childhood in Los Angeles and the unexpected road from journalism student to actor; the life-changing decade of One Tree Hill, when she navigated relationships on- and off-screen and fought for her character’s integrity; the realities of marriage, divorce and rebuilding; and her years in Chicago, where a dream job split her between two lives and taught her the power of walking away. She also offers sides of herself not often seen: the lifelong, curious learner, who looks to data and poetry alike for answers to life’s questions. The friend, who finds community and chosen family in unexpected places. The adventurer, who hops on a last-minute flight to attend a dance party at the White House and makes the most of vacations gone horribly, hilariously wrong. And so many more. Witty, wise and at turns both personal and universal, And I Will Tell You Mine is a powerful, soul-stirring account of becoming, un-becoming and becoming again; embracing the light when the world feels overwhelmingly dark; and finally, joyously, returning home to our truest selves.
